How to earn them:
- First off you need to get an Extra Care Card (ECC). Use it EVERY time you shop at CVS. If you don't have it with you they can look up your phone number to look it up because every purchase earns you 2% back in ECB. These will be rewarded once a quarter.
- There are often deals that every 2 prescriptions filled gives you an ECB.
- If you use a reusable bag you can purchase a green tag for $1. (Watch the coupons that print on the bottom of your receipt for coupons for these) The green tags can be used on ANY reusable bag, not just a CVS one. Every time you shop have them scan it and you will earn 1 ECB for every 4 scans. You can only can it once a day. I am not sure if you can scan more than one tag a day since they have different bar codes.
- ECB are also earned by purchasing certain items. Check the circular or which items earn ECB that week. These will print instantly and you do not have to wait for the end of the quarter.
- Before every shopping trip scan your ECC at a station that looks like a price checker. It will print off coupons and ECB.
- You need your ECC to use your ECB or register coupons
- You can not get change back.
- They can't be used on prescriptions, tobacco, alcohol, lottery, gift cards, money orders, postage stamps.
- You may still have to pay sales tax on "free" items.
- Since you need to present your ECC to use your ECB they are not transferable. (In other words you can't trade with your friends.)
